Many people in Long Beach want to support small businesses, but how does one go about finding small businesses operating in Long Beach? So often, when you do Google searches, it’s the large players who dominate the top search results. It can be difficult for small businesses to compete online simply because they don’t have the marketing budgets that their larger competitors do. However, small businesses often provide superior products and service to their customers, which is why so many people want to work with them.
To find great small businesses, you can certainly ask around for referrals, but even then, your friends, neighbors, and colleagues may not have any good suggestions related to what you’re looking for.
Destination LA, a television series, has made it their mission to help shine a spotlight on local small businesses that are contributing to their communities in meaningful ways. They are highlighting businesses that provide unique or exemplary products or services, and those that are helping make their communities better places to live and work.
Recently, a local architect, Grisafe Architecture in Long Beach, was featured on Destination LA. Grisafe Architecture has been designing commercial and residential spaces in Long Beach for more than 20 years. They have a unique, collaborative approach to design that helps them stand out among the larger architecture firms in the area.
Even though Grisafe Architecture is a relatively small firm, their capabilities are impressive. They have the resources and expertise to take on complex projects that other small firms might shy away from, and they have completed some impressive commercial and residential projects throughout the City of Long Beach. They have been involved in the remodeling of several historic homes, designed spaces in popular retail districts, and have helped transform multiple commercial spaces through tenant improvement design.
Destination LA recognized everything that makes Grisafe Architecture special and decided they would make a great small business to highlight on their show. The show’s producers visited Grisafe Architecture’s Long Beach office and conducted interviews with owner and lead architect Mark Grisafe. They also visited one of their tenant improvement clients, Deep Blue Swim School in Long Beach, to get some additional footage. Grisafe Architecture had helped Deep Blue Swim School transform a commercial building shell into a fully functioning indoor swim school several years earlier, and it is a great example of the architecture firm’s abilities.
The episode featuring Grisafe Architecture (Season 3, Episode 12) was debuted on CBS-LA (KCBS Channel 2) this Fall and is now part of the permanent collection on Roku. If you want to see just the segment on Grisafe Architecture, you can view it on the Long Beach architecture firm’s YouTube channel.
